The blog has moved to a simpler site with larger photos and more interaction. I never liked the small photos on this site and now the home page can focus on more recent work and display the images in all their grandeur!
Amy & Dustin
•June 10, 2009 • 1 CommentAmy and Dustin held their Shreveport wedding at Brown Chapel at Centenary College. The two are a nice, young couple who seem to be very much in love. The wedding was a nice gathering of friends and family, and the reception seemed even better attended with food and drink for all. It was a pleasure photographingtheir big day, even though I never actually met the bride and groom since the mother of the bride was my only contact. Congratulations to them both!

Brandy isn’t a professional model, but I’m thinking that perhaps she might consider it. She was a pleasure to work with and needed little if not zero direction from me. A few suggestions here and there and my choice of locations and we managed to make some fantastic portraits in downtown Shreveport. I love the look of a soft woman juxtaposed against metal and concrete and crumbling, abandoned buildings.

Crystal and Paul
•April 12, 2009 • 1 CommentCrystal, Paul and I hit some spots in downtown Shreveport for their engagement session on Saturday morning. It was almost cheating having such a good-looking couple who brought great attitudes, enthusiasm, and several changes of clothes. The photos looked fantastic right out of the camera, but you know me, I couldt resist giving them some special attention! Here’s a few of my favorites, and you can go to my main site to see more…enjoy.

They’re such a good lookin’ couple with great clothes and style, I couldn’t resist a rock poster look!

Hoop Dreams
•March 28, 2009 • 3 CommentsI shot his year’s all-city and all-area basketball players of the year for the paper. I pulled out all the stops and combined multiple photographs with HDR photography, nice lighting, and some PhotoShop ingenuity to create the images.

Raechel & Scott
•March 11, 2009 • Leave a CommentRaechel and Scott had a nice reception at the Eldorado Casino after getting married at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas! It was a small gathering of close family and friends but all had a lot of fun as they watched the two dance and enjoy one another. We snuck away before the beginning of things to get in a few nice portraits.

2009 Inauguration
•January 24, 2009 • Leave a CommentI traveled to D.C. to cover the Obama inauguration for my day gig with the newspaper. It was a momentous couple of days. While there were several thousand in front of me, I’d still say I had a decent view considering the some 900,000+ that were behind me for the event.

Of course I brought along my daughter's Cookie Monster doll to take a photo so I could show her I was thinking of her!
The Great Depression
•November 20, 2008 • 1 CommentI was assigned to a story about folks who lived the the Great depression. After thinking over how I wanted the photos to look, I figured why not make them look as if they were shot during that era? Even if I had a camera from the time period, film and developing is too expensive! So, alas, i love PhotoShop!

Dirtfoot
•November 14, 2008 • Leave a CommentThe guys from local band Dirtfoot and I visited Body Electric Tattoo on Fairfield and Jordan in Shreveport for some shots for a story about their upcoming CD release for their new album, Bone Sessions. The article will appear in the Nov. 21 issue of Preview. Dirtfoot describes themselves as a “Front Porch, Whiskey Swillin, Foot Stomping, Gypsy, Punk, Country, Grumble, Boogie band”. I hadnt really heard much of them, but after the shoot and having such a good time with the fellas, I went to their site to check them out…I like it. The guys wanted to do a “Pulp Fiction” type shot of them peering into a briefcase. Kudos to the band who brought colorful clothes, props and dry ice! I used four strobes for the shot, one on an umbrella for overall lighting, and the rest with assorted color gels.

Little Sarah Allen
•November 9, 2008 • 1 CommentSarah is a little cutie with gorgeous blue eyes. We went to the Duck Pond to shoot some portraits. It was tough to keep up with her as she made her way from the swings to the jungle gym to the see-saw she enjoyed the playground there, but I managed a few keepers and even got her to sit still for a shot or two!

Run with the Nuns
•November 9, 2008 • Leave a CommentI shot a few portrait shots of a couple of nuns for the annual Run with the Nuns charity motorcycle rally. The Covair in the photo was being auctioned off for the event and the man donating was nice enough to let us use his motorcycle for the shot as well.

License to Kill
•November 6, 2008 • 1 CommentHow about a few shots to be used in the paper about an annual charity event…this year’s theme is “Shaken Not Stirred”. I was told we would be having a guy dressed as James Bond coming in…voila. I was going for a Sin City look in the first shot.
